Dear Friends and Families of the J.P. Manning School,
As the calendar year draws to a close and the academic calendar reaches its midpoint, please take a moment to think of all that your child has learned and accomplished this year at the Manning. Many of the programs that make the Manning such a great school are not funded through the BPS budget. Instead, the Parent Council raises significant funds to support educational activities at the Manning. Last year, money raised by the Parent Council supported:
- Half of the salary for our amazing art teacher, Ms. Leesa
- Bus transportation for a field trip for every grade at the school
- The purchase of an interactive SmartBoard for the 2nd grade classroom
The year, the Parent Council would like to continue supporting these programs as well as raising money for professional development programs for staff and funding a mini-grant to a teacher to incorporate technology into the classroom.
Your continued support of the Parent Council enables the group to contribute financially to the great work of the teachers and staff at the school. We ask that you join us in contributing to the Manning Parent Council this year.
Many times, grandparents and other special people in our children’s lives are looking for ways to support students. Please share this letter with friends, neighbors, or anyone else who might be interested in supporting kids and a great public school.
The Manning is a free public school and no donation is required. If you are able to make even a small donation, please do consider the Manning.
More important than the size of the donation is the percentage of families who contribute. There are many ways to support the Manning. Some of us might be able to contribute with a monetary donation; others might donate time at one of our events. Either way, we hope that you are able to become involved with the work of the Parent Council this year. Every contribution counts towards providing the Manning community with the tools necessary to make the educational experience at the school the best that it can be.
