1. Ms. Lubin’s Request for New Winter Gear.
Each winter, K0/K1 collects new mittens, scarfs, socks, etc to donate. We’ll be collecting these for the rest of January. If you can donate or if you have any questions you can email Ms. Lubin at email@example.com
2. Start Collecting Box Tops!
Starting in February, Ms. Lubin will have a contest to see which grade can collect the most BoxTops. Last year fifth grade won the contest and our entire school collected 1,400 box tops!
To participate: Buy your favorite BoxTop products, cut the BoxTop from each package and send your Box Tops to school with your child. You can also earn eBoxTops® with every qualiﬁed purchase at over 200 online stores; just sign up here and start earning money for our school!
3. K1 Enrollment ends in January
To all families hoping to secure a K1 spot for a younger sibling, please make sure to enter your child’s name in the first round of applications in January. If you wait, you may lose the seat.
As many of you already know, due to the high number of siblings, not all prospective k1 students will be given a seat next fall. Do not hesitate to contact Mr. D’ablemont Burnes at 617-635-8102, with any questions or concerns.

Parent/guardians should rank the schools on this application and return the completed application to their student’s school. BPS students who are moving on to Grade 6 will be given their Assignment Application in January. BPS students who are moving on to another grade that is not provided at their current school, including AWC-eligible students, will be given Assignment Applications in February.

5. January’s Genre Challenge is Realistic Fiction
The challenge is to have the students read at least three books each month of that particular genre. Once they have finished reading a book, each classroom teacher has a small form that the student has to fill out with their name, title of the book, genre title, grade, and a brief summary of the book.
When the form is filled out, they bring it to Ms. Cahill before the end of the month
