Just wanted to remind everyone that we have a Parent Council meeting this tuesday. See the forwarded announcement below.
I would like to ask for your help spreading the word about this month’s Parent Council meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, November 18. The meeting will feature Linda Camp, who will talk about reading, how children learn to read, and ways that parents can support reading.
Linda is an educator specializing in language development, literacy, and curriculum support. Her experience includes senior lecturer at Curry College, teaching reading assessment and intervention and college students who have learning disabilities; teacher of children with learning disabilities in Brockton and Boston Public Schools; director of early literacy programs for ReadBoston; and research project coordinator at Harvard Graduate School of Education. She lives in Jamaica Plain and is a parent of a child with special needs, as well as a former BPS parent.
More information is available on her website at http://earlylanguagematters.com/
We hope to have a good turn out for this meeting. Please let Anna Litten or me know if you have any questions.
