Nurse Joan’s message on Norovirus

December 9, 2014

Dear Manning Families,

Just over a month ago, one of our schools in Boston had a large number of students and staff having the Norovirus.   Although our students here at the Manning have been diligent with practicing good hand washing, unfortunately, we have had a few cases of nausea, vomiting and diarrhea in the past two weeks. Please remind your children to wash their hands often, especially before eating and after using the bathroom.

We will be working with the custodian to keep classroom furniture as clean as possible to minimize the chances of getting/transmitting the virus.

If your child exhibits symptoms of the Norovirus (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramps), please keep him/her at home for at least 24 hours.

Thanks for your help.
